New Delhi had an air quality index (AQI) of 407, putting it in the "hazardous" category, according to Swiss group IQAir.
Lahore, Pakistan s second-most populous city, has shut down due to toxic air pollution. Schools, public parks, malls, and offices were closed due to an AQI of over 400, considered hazardous by Swiss air tracking company IQAir. Chief minister Mohsin Naqvi imposed an "environmental and health emergency" in Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Lahore until the situation improved.
