The INDIA bloc will hold a nationwide protest against the mass suspension of opposition MPs from the Parliament on Friday. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will speak at Jantar Mantar at 11 am. Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge will also attend the event.
The protests led to the suspension of 46 MPs from the House for the session. A breach of privilege notice was moved against Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien and the matter was referred to the Privileges Committee.
The Congress has hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP amid the row over mimicry and mass suspension of MPs, stating the Prime Minister has been insulting his political opponents for years.
