WATERLOO:
WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) The City of Waterloo is participating in the national Memorial to Lives Lost to COVID-19 by lighting the Riverloop Amphitheatre in amber at dusk on Tuesday.
Digital display signs at the Waterloo Center for the Arts and the Public Library will also pay tribute. A moment of silence is also planned at the beginning of Waterloo Mayor Quentin Hart s virtual discussion on health and wellbeing Tuesday night as part of a series of MLK Week of Service panel discussions in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As a community we have lost family members, friends and neighbors. Many are deeply grieving in private. The pandemic prevents us from wrapping our arms around each other in love and support, Mayor Hart said. Tonight, as we join millions across the country in (a) moment of unity, may it galvanize our commitment to care for one another.
