SINGAPORE: An elderly driver collided with two maids who were out walking dogs, killing one of the pets and causing both domestic helpers to be hospitalised with fractures.
Soh Poh Geok, 71, was jailed for five days on Friday (Jul 2) and banned from driving for 18 months.

She pleaded guilty to one charge of causing grievous hurt to one of the maids by a negligent act. Another charge of grievously injuring the second domestic helper was taken into consideration.

SINGAPORE - A man accused of using a wooden pole to assault his teenage sister, who was later found dead in a Clementi flat, and his two accomplices, will face more than 10 charges as they continue to be remanded without bail.
Huang Bocan, 29, another man, Lim Peng Tiong, 62, and a woman, Chee Mei Wan, 41, may also have their current charges upgraded, including to capital ones, the court heard on Tuesday (June 15).
They are each currently facing a charge of voluntarily causing grievous hurt to Ms Huang Baoying, 19.

SINGAPORE: A man whose son committed suicide after being accused of sexual misconduct is suing the Debate Association (Singapore), where his son used to be a programme director, for damages.
Mr Lawrence Li See Kit is suing the association as the personal representative of Mr Lucas Li Guangsheng, who died aged 31 on Aug 8, 2018 by suicide.

He claims negligence by the association in the way they handled investigations and publication of allegations against Lucas, and alleges that their actions led to Lucas suicide when the association and its members knew of Lucas mental condition and risk of suicide.
