good morning, jasmine. walk us through this new reporting. reporter: yeah, well deep concern. that s how one senior administration official described the level of worry inside of the white house to my colleagues, kaitlan collins about the documents that were taken to mar-a-lago. now, you re right, the white house has been very disciplined in their messaging, near silence from them, referring comment back to the doj. here thanks to my colleagues we have a window into the increasing private concerns from the white house over what was taken. and that concern really focuses in a large part on exactly what was taken and whether or not what was taken could imperil the way that u.s. intelligence gathers informations and the sources that it comes from. now, the white house is not exactly sure about what was taken. they received, as we did last week, that inventory list stating exactly what it was. remember, some of those documents were found in the basement of trump s private residence at ma
community defines that as, and so as more information has emerged as we have now seen what exactly was taken from mar-a-lago, we don t know specifically what the documents were. you saw that inventory list that came out last week after the judge unsealed it, that did list what they took, including some information that is only supposed to be viewed inside secure government facilities. it s what s known as a skiff to people here who work at the white house, and congress. you re often not allowed to wear things such as an apple watch to look at this information. they are concerned, what we are hearing from sources, it could potentially put the methods and sources that the u.s. intelligence committee puts at risk. they re not sure whose hands this was in, what has happened to the information. obviously it was not held in a secure facility. that s why they were so concerned about it. they have great concerns about that. we know represent tatives for t intelligence community have spoken to
about this search of mar-a-lago at the white house. what we are learning is that they re quite concerned about the idea that all this classified information was taken to the former president s private residence. it was kept, most of it, in a basement level room. a storage facility where it has been the last several months as the national archives and justice department has tried to get its hands on it. as these developments and new details have emerged including what they took from mar-a-lago when the fbi agents were there last week, there has become more and more concern about the idea of this classified information being there. including some of it so secure that you are only supposed to view it in a secure government facility. so what we ve heard from officials, they don t know exactly what was taken. they ve only seen the inventory list that we ve seen from this unsealed search warrant released by a judge a week ago. they have the number one concern, that really this potential clas
reveal sources and methods that the u.s. intelligence community uses to get its information. potentially revealing those sources, or the methods, and preventing them from being able to use them going forward. it has become a real concern. so representative for the intelligence community have had conversations with justice department officials, with congressional intelligence committees about these concerns that they have. and another thing is there s a diplomatic aspect of this. if you look at the inventory list, it mention that had there were three pages of information about the french president included in what the fbi took from trump s resort. that has raised questions, of course, of what that could be. we should note the french embassy has not commented on that matter. and republican who s support trump on capitol hill are really up in arms about this. that raid at mar-a-lago. let s remind our viewers what congressman mike turner of ohio, the top republican on the house intellige
