Digital verification more and more activists are using social media content as evidence of Human Rights Violations but what do the photos and videos exactly depict Amnesty International has set up a network to analyze online content. This video of a refugee camp in Papua New Guinea was filmed using a phone the Authorities Say that soldiers fired shots in the air but amnesties research has brought something very different to light. But we were able to prove actually that they were firing into the Pension Center which then led to the new Guinea Police on the Australian Government changing the narratives about what happened on those days. Ahead of the digital verification corps project based in southern england Amnesty International is working with six universities on three continents to train digital detectives.
