JGU launches 10th School of Psychology & Counselling with new undergraduate degree in Psychology

The school offers a three-year program, culminating in a BA Honours degree in Psychology. The Jindal School of Psychology & Counselling (JSPC) will commence with the first batch of students in August this year. University of Hyderabad shines in QS World Subject Rankings 2021 Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA The University of Hyderabad secured top slots in QS World University Subject Rankings released on Thursday by Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank”, Minister of Education. The Department of English made an extraordinary return in the subject rankings, storming into the global top 300 in QS figuring in the 251-300 ranks band, and is the top-ranked subject in UoH. Chemistry, one of UoH’s strongest disciplines, is in the 351-400 ranks. Closely following them are the Life Sciences at 501-550 and Physics at 551-600. All of these academic units in UoH have produced highly-cited work, with faculty publishing in top-ranked journals, according to Prof Appa Rao Podile, Vice-Chancellor. UoH also featured in 29 subjects out of 51 narrow subjects under 5 broad subject areas - Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences & Management

Surappa Share Article AAA Court grants till March 15 for govt. to file counter to petition filed by M.K. Surappa The Madras High Court on Saturday directed the State government to not take any decision till April 5 on an inquiry report, if any, filed by a Commission of Inquiry (CoI) constituted against Anna University Vice-Chancellor M.K. Surappa. The objective of the CoI is to probe charges of bribery, corruption, malpractice, financial irregularities, irregular appointments and so on. Justice S. Vaidyanathan passed the interim order after Advocate General Vijay Narayan sought time till March 15 to file a detailed counter affidavit to a writ petition filed by Mr. Surappa, challenging a November 2020 Government Order for constitution of the CoI under retired High Court judge P. Kalaiyarasan. The AG too assured that no final decision shall be taken till then.
