We celebrate it every day at Michigan’s Best.
Since launching our Michigan’s Best series in 2012, we have made two epic road trips in search of Michigan’s Best Pizza, visiting nearly 100 restaurants and getting nearly 400 nominations.
Each visit, each pie was as tasty as the next.
Michiganders, like all Americans, love their pizza. According to pizza.com, each person in the U.S. eats about 46 pizza slices a year. That seems a little low to us. Heck, there are days we had nearly that many slices in one day.

“We had the comically, tragic timing of opening March 22,” said River Saint Joe co-founder and CEO Brian Dougherty.

Our voting deadline is at 3 p.m. today, Jan. 29, for Michigan’s Best Outdoor Dining.
As of 6 a.m. we’ve had more than 16,000 votes for 130-plus restaurants that were nominated in 11 regions from all parts of the state.
That doesn’t mean outdoor dining will end any time soon.
Igloos, shanties and other patio dining set ups will remain open to help these restaurants survive. Pro tip: Many of these establishments require reservations more than a week in advance. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so plan accordingly.
