A SCAM caller pretended to the the chief inspector of Rhyl police to North Wales Police said the incident, in which the scammer claimed that the victim s National Insurance number had bee used in fraud, took place on Monday. In a separate incident on Monday, a victim located in the North Wales region was conned out of £4,000 by a scam artist claiming to be from their bank. Police have warned residents to beware of giving any financial details over the phone. Our victim was phoned claiming their National Insurance Number had been used in fraud so they gave details to move money to keep it safe, a tweet on the NWP Community Safety Central page said. They were told the Chief Inspector of Rhyl Police would call back.
