A SCAM caller pretended to the the chief inspector of Rhyl police to North Wales Police said the incident, in which the scammer claimed that the victim s National Insurance number had bee used in fraud, took place on Monday. In a separate incident on Monday, a victim located in the North Wales region was conned out of £4,000 by a scam artist claiming to be from their bank. Police have warned residents to beware of giving any financial details over the phone. Our victim was phoned claiming their National Insurance Number had been used in fraud so they gave details to move money to keep it safe, a tweet on the NWP Community Safety Central page said. They were told the Chief Inspector of Rhyl Police would call back.
NORTH Wales Police are warning Denbigh residents to remain vigilant after a person from the area lost £7,000 to a scammer. According to NWP s Community Safety Central team, a resident of Ruthin Road recently lost the sum after someone pretending to be from the bank had called them. A statement from the team warning locals read: Unfortunately a resident of Ruthin Road in #Denbigh has been the victim of a scam. The resident received a call stating they were from the bank and that their had been fraudulent activity on the account. The scammer has then convinced the resident to transfer £7000. If you know of anyone who could be taken in by this type of scam please let them know.
A VAN was broken into and thousands of pounds of tools stolen in Mochdre. North Wales Police said it investigated the incident, which took place overnight on Monday, but no evidence of forced entry were found on the vehicle. Police have urged van owners to ensure their vehicles and property are secure. A Ford Transit van was broken into sometime over Monday night into Tuesday morning in Mochdre, NWP Community Safety Central tweeted. There was no obvious signs of forced entry on the van. £2000 worth of power tools have been stolen. Ask yourself how secure is my van and could a thief break in and steal my tools.
The incident happened in at Eirias Park. NWP Community Safety Central post on Facebook on April 29: We have had a report of suspicious activity in Eirias Park in Colwyn Bay. A female was with her two dogs in the park. The dogs were off the lead. A female in her late 50s and a male in his late 30s were acting suspiciously around the dogs. The owner called her dogs and the suspicious couple left very swiftly. If you walk your dogs in this area please be vigilant.
