Operation Kaveri is India's evacuation mission in Sudan to evacuate Indians stranded due to the ongoing conflict. So far, 3195 Indians have been evacuated using Indian Naval Ships and Indian Air Force Aircrafts. The Embassy of India is providing facilitation and transit accommodation to Indian nationals at the Indian School in Port Sudan.
Ministry of External Affairs, Official spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi tweeted, "#OperationKaveri bringing citizens back home. "9th outbound flight departs from Jeddah. 186 passengers onboard this flight are flying to Kochi," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.
"14th batch of Indians leaves Port Sudan under #OperationKaveri. 288 passengers onboard INS Teg are enroute to Jeddah," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.
As Operation Kaveri is underway, another batch of 297 Indians have been rescued from Sudan and have arrived at Jeddah by INS Teg, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said on Thursday.
