group of officers pulling up to where we had the block party earlier. that s the most amount of force we have seen arrive at this intersection where the cvs burned just on monday. so again, about one, two, three, four, and out of your sight, a fifth wagon, and maybe five or six police cars. and all of the personnel seems to be going down north here, as we now hear a fire truck siren coming down here on pennsylvania. and then there s right over here, i don t know if we can get over here. richard, i want to bring attention sorry to interrupt you, but we had an aerial shot of the arrest taking place, as far as a man loaded into a van, taken into police custody. it looks like a woman, we watched the one arrest from our report with adam, that happened, and this one appears to be a
they have brought him out. he is the man, he s wearing a jacket. he s the one with the expletive and the t-shirt that was brought in and taken out and we re seeing this man put inside the wagon. go ahead, adam. i just wanted to update you. you were concerned about the elderly woman. she has asthma and she has been treated and she s right now heading back to the apartment building. back at the paddy wagon, they are going to take him. it s possible they ll put him in another paddy wagon and as richard said, i think we re up to seven arrests at this one location, but again, reiterating what richard said, it s pretty much clear here. there is a chopper overhead, but the streets are clear. we don t see the numbers of police we have seen in previous noits. there are no state troopers, no national guard. there s just a few police officers here dealing with the isolated arrests. as we see these vehicles and we see these arrests and these people being put into the back of the fan, really
man there. who may follow. who seems to be smirking or smiling several times for whatever reason, i do not know. and these wagons, as was mentioned by adam and you and i discussed it also. there s some question in terms of cases according to the baltimore sun and their investigations since the 1990s and the number of cases of those being injured while being transported from site a to site b that has led to several awards. now, the method by which the baltimore police department does move individuals in these wagons from point a to point b, is not the only way. there are other jurisdictions that will bring in an all together separate group. the sheriff, for instance, the sheriff s department that will come and pick up those that need to be transported from a to b from the police department itself, so that driver from the wagon was not there at scene,
discussion and perhaps some conflict behind that. well, there s two ways of looking at it. one is the community just wants to exhale. and part of exhaling is what we saw today down at the square. comfort, people listening to rules, listening to those who are chanting. the other way, and they just want things to go back to whatever normal might be. the other is that, hey, we don t want to be living in an area where we are completely policed. that s really the two sides of this. on the streets right now, you heard the siren that was just passing by adam and congressman cummings. that is probably only one of two sirens i have heard today as i have been in the streets probably for about seven hours. just to put that in context. and this helicopter, probably the first helicopter i have seen in the last seven hours that i have been here in baltimore working with you and reporting on the story. and again, just about two or three minutes ago, on it fourth rotation, that warning for people to g
i know the mayor had visited the cvs earlier today. richard is having a tough time hearing us. let s check back in with adam, who is in there. it seems like from what we re seeing right now, adam, this man is with a group of police officers standing up on his own. he is cuffed, but they haven t yet taken him into a vehicle. any indication what s happening? yeah, i don t understand why they brought him back here. he didn t appear to be injured. they brought him away from the paddy wagon. we have four arrests. we have the one woman you saw going into the paddy wagon, the other gentleman in the v-neck t-shirt and two over here, one you re watching, they re trying to take the twist tie off his wrist and the other gentleman to the right who is injured. they have placed him on the gurney. we should see that passing us on the way to the ambulance in a minute now. they re lifting the gurney and they ll be bringing it out momentarily. we can possibly try to ask him
