LWC: Initial unemployment insurance claims drop for week ending February 13

According to the Louisiana Workforce Commission, the initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending February 13, 2021 dropped to 6,458 from the week ending February 6, 2021.
That s a decrease of 2,552 initial claims from the previous week s total of 9,010.
For a comparison, LWC says that during the week ending February 15, 2020, 1,739 initial claims were filed.
The four-week moving average of initial claims decreased to 9,462 from the previous weekâs average of 11,933. The unemployment insurance continued claims for the week ending February 13, 2021 decreased to 54,587 from the week ending February 6, 2021 total of 60,711. The continued claims were above the comparable figure of 15,057 for the week ending February 15, 2020, LWC says.
