here we go. welcome to our viewers in the united states and around the world, it is monday, october 24th. i m christine romans. we begin with the midterm elections now just 15 days away. early voting already under way with more than 5.8 million ballots cast in 39 states. right now polls and political spending suggests republicans are surging and stand a good chance of retaking the house of representatives with a solid majority. recent surveys show the reason for that surge, the economy. inflation and to a lesser degree crime. early this summer looked like the anger at the supreme court ruling overturning roe versus wade would give democrats a chance to hold back the red tide and keep control of the house. now it looks like that abortion-fueled momentum may have peaked too soon. they have to split their messaging between abortion and the economy are the democrats. nobody said we re doing abortion rather than economy. but it s about both. i can tell you that that issue is ver
tackle most important issues, including crime, the economy and inflation. you re watching fox and friends first s, on monday morning, i m carley shimkus. ashley: i m ashley strohmier, in for todd piro. house speaker nancy pelosi is downplaying the importance. it is about getting out to vote, everything else is a conversation compared to that. i hear people talk about inflation, we have to change that subjects, inflation is global phenomenon. ashley: this as america fays one of the worst inflationary periods we ve seen in years under the biden administration, even senator bernie sanders is expressing concern about voter turnout. i am worried about the level of voter turnout among young peep and he will working people voting det crammic and i think again what democrats have to do is contrast their economic plan with the republican. i think it is important to take the attack to republicans, what do they want to do other than complain? carley: we spoke with candidate c
not votes. it s not about winning your vote anymore. it s not about persuading you. it s about flooding the state with as many ballots as possible and getting them filled out democrat. and you ll never guess who is involved in the ballot game. the second gentleman, kamala s main squeeze. kamala and doug by the way, doug crisscrossed the country. i think he did he spent more time making sure that the folks who actually count the votes in these states do it honestly. and thank you, pal.
