Trading, jcpenney, the struggling retailer posted its first quarterly profit in more than two years and shares rallied in afterhours trades. Retailers return to discounting at last. The income was 35 million in the quarter compared to a loss of 552 million a year earlier. A little bit better numbers from jcpenney but coming off of a very low comparative figure.
