The Indian Railways on Friday awarded Hyderabad-based Medha Servo Drives Pvt. Ltd a ₹2,211 crore tender for procurement of Vande Bharat Express or Train 18.
The contract includes designing and manufacturing propulsion, control and other equipment required for making 44 rakes of Vande Bharat-type train sets.

India has set a precedence in global vaccination efforts by digitizing the mass immunization programme for covid-19 and will produce more vaccines within six months to inoculate more people, the founding architect of Aadhaar, Nandan Nilekani, said at the Redseer Ground Zero 4.0 virtual event on Friday.
“India will be a role model in providing vaccination at scale with agility. It is one of the first countries to create and digitize a vaccine certification process, which will help the Indian population considerably, Nilekani said.

Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, today flagged off eight trains arriving at Kevadiya from different regions of India. He also inaugurated the new railway lines in other places including Dabhoi, Chandod and Pratapnagar.
The Dabhoi –Chandod Gauge converted to broad gauge rail line from an 18km narrow guage line, extended broad gauge railway line from Chandod to Kevadiya, newly electrified Pratapnagar – Kevadiya section, new station buildings of Dabhoi Jn., Chandod and Kevadiya, have bene inaugurated today via video conferencing.
