The central government has said that it has held a meeting with mobile manufacturers to discuss the compatibility of the home-grown global positioning system -
News agency Reuters reported on Monday (September 26) that India is pushing tech giants to make smartphones compatible with its home-grown navigation system within months.
Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC), also called the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), is considered on par with US-based GPS, Russia's Glonass and Galileo developed by Europe.
