Foreign investors bought bonds under the Fully Accessible Route or FAR worth over 23 billion rupees ($276.25 million) on an average in each of the three weeks since Sept. 22 when JPMorgan said it would include 23 such securities in its widely tracked index from June 2024 onwards.
The 10-year benchmark bond yield was at 7.2442% as of 10:00 a.m. IST after hitting 7.2612%, its highest since April 18, earlier in the session. The bond closed the previous session at 7.2327%.
The 10-year benchmark 7.18% 2033 bond yield ended at 7.2414% after ending at 7.1704% in the previous session. The yield posted its biggest single-session rise since Nov. 3, 2022.
