The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) on Tuesday said it will export the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine to India from 1 May, the day India expands its covid-19 immunization drive to cover all adults.
“The first doses will be delivered on 1 May, RDIF chief executive officer Kirill Dmitriev said.

Over the last two weeks, India’s Covid-19 vaccination drive has slowed down with less doses being administered on a weekly basis. From May 1, the vaccine will be available to all adults.
Former prime minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the COVID-19 crisis, stressing that ramping up vaccination was the key to battling the pandemic.
Maharashtra has reported the highest daily new cases at 63,294. It is followed by Chhattisgarh with 10,521 while Uttar Pradesh has reported 12,748 new cases
