An Indian delegation is currently in the Philippines to showcase homegrown military technologies and equipment and explore defense industry tie-ups to bolster Manilas defense modernization efforts. At a defense industry seminar organized by the Indian Embassy in Makati City, 18 Indian companies presented defense items ranging from aircraft, drones, helicopters to artificial intelligence-based technologies.
The High Court of Karnataka has ruled that IBM Philippines shall not be liable for TDS under Section 195 of the Income Tax Act. It has therefore dismissed four appeals filed by the IT Department against IBM India Private Limited.The appeals were in relation to four different assessment years starting from 2008-09.

India's external affairs minister, Dr S Jaishankar, will be on a visit to the Philippines from February 13th to the 15th.
The visit comes after India and the Philippines signed a $374.96 million dollar deal last month, under which New Delhi will export BrahMos missiles to the ASEAN country. The biggest defence export deal India has ever signed was conceptualised in 2017.
The coastal defence regiment of the Philippine marines will be the primary employer of the missiles.
