The S&P Global India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was, at 54.6 in May, little changed from 54.7 in April, pointing to a sustained recovery across the sector.
“The seasonally adjusted IHS Markit India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) was at 54.0 in January, down from 55.5 in December," stated IHS Markit.
The report stated that the health of the manufacturing industry improved in December, with new work growth and production remaining sharp in spite of losing momentum.
The IHS Markit India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) fell from the ten-month high of 57.6 in November 2021 to 55.5 in December, but the reading pointed to a robust improvement in overall operating conditions that was elevated by historical standards.
