New Delhi: The build-up in Hot Springs and Depsang, while formidable, is less worrying than the way things were in both the North and the South Banks of Pangong Tso.
This is why, sources said, the possibility of a solution, is more than likely. Very simply, if there could be a solution in Pangong, there is no reason why the others cannot be solved.
Pangong was crammed with PLA firepower: 6 battalions of infantry in the North Bank, 9 battalions in the South Bank, and the equivalent of two artillery battalions (there are artillery battalions in the PLA as opposed to regiments in the Indian army) and air defence weaponry, particularly the HQ-16 surface to air missile units.
