Over 68,000 Indian Army soldiers and military equipment, including tanks, artillery guns, and radar systems, have been rapidly deployed to the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh following the deadly clashes with China in the Galwan Valley. The Indian Air Force deployed its Su-30 MKI and Jaguar fighters to conduct surveillance and intelligence gathering, while remotely piloted aircraft maintained a watch over Chinese activities.
"I think the most important aspect of our operational environment remains our legacy challenges of the unsettled and disputed borders. Pockets of dispute and contested claims to the territory continue to exist. Transgressions remain the potential trigger for escalations," said General Manoj Pande.
The Chinese Army would continue to build up its military infrastructure and skirmishes would also get frequent in Ladakh, which may or may not follow a pattern, Reuters reported, citing a security assessment by the police.
