After a gap of over three months, India and China on Wednesday are holding another round of high-level military talks to resolve the 20-month-long military standoff in the remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh, sources in the security establishment said.
Sources said if compared with winters last year, the Chinese are much better prepared in terms of the shelters, road connectivity and acclimatisation. Rockets and missile regiments have been deployed in rear areas controlled by the PLA in Tibet Autonomous Region, the sources said.
The Pentagon regularly reports to the Congress on the India-Chinese military standoff in eastern Ladakh. The Department of Defense has categorically said China is indulging in aggressive and coercive behaviour with its neighbours, India in particular.
