November is here and it brought some cold weather with it! If you are looking for a warm indoor space to participate in fun classes and activities, we’ve got you covered. Once again, the Community Learning Center has a busy schedule with a new class, Smart Trust, along with some of our regularly scheduled activities. There also a few immediate community activities that you don’t want to miss.
On Sept. 15, SB40 will be collaborating with Tidal Wave Auto Spa for their Annual Charity Day from 10 a.m.–7 p.m. One hundred percent of proceeds from sales on that date will go to non-profit organizations. This year, Tidal Wave Auto Spa has invited Adair County SB40 to receive 50 percent of the day’s proceeds. The other 50 percent will go to support Tidal Wave’s corporate partner, Annandale Village (https://annandale.org). SB40 will also get to keep 100 percent of all donations made throughout the day. All funds raised by SB40 will go to the Adair County SB40 DD Link to purchase books about disabilities and inclusion for area first grade students in celebration of Developmental Disability Month in March 2024. Volunteers are needed to assist with greeting customers, collecting donations, handing out information, and holding signs. Hannah Montgomery, 13-year-old daughter of Chris and Paula Montgomery in Memphis, Mo., has been selected as the Adair County SB40 August 2023 Spotlight Award recipient for Kids Inclusion.
Adair County SB40 announced that Jamie Edmondson is the May 2023 Spotlight Award recipient. Edmondson was nominated by Kim Baker of Chariiton Valley Association/CHS for her long-time employment with Sodexo at Truman State University.
