to about five times the national average. the whole region has felt the impact, especially the city s jail. the hamilton county justice center. the population has gotten a lot more dangerous. we are holding on to the worst of the worst. gun violence in cincinnati is a problem. it s a big problem. the number of people that are incars rated in here have shown gun violence in some way, shape, or form. most of the 1300 men and women in the jail are only charged with crimes and are awaiting trial for the resolution of their cases. male inmates charged with murder are housed together in four separate units known in the jail as murder pods. it s possible that some of these inmates will never be on the streets of cincinnati again. but david bell has found a way to bring a little bit of the streets to them. this is monopoly right here. it s the cincinnati version of
with me to talk about this. he was in a vip section. he had some expectation of privacy. should he simply maybe not have gone? i think that s the answer to the question, deb. i get it s a vip section. i don t care what section it is. when you re during the trial for your life, when you could be incars rated for the rest of your life, stay out of the spotlight. i understand there s no jury. it s the judge, the judge will make a decision, and will predicate the decision on the facts that came in that courtroom. but you don t need to bring undue attention to yourself or otherwise undo a lot of great work that your defense attorneys have done and why allow the world to speculate, is he really a hot head, is the judge now speculating, all the things said about his character, could they be true? just avoid it, stay low. but not during a murder trial. he did walk away, let s just go to that. he did walk away. he also went back to tweeting. this is kind of interesting. it s the first time
is right now releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants who have been slated for deportation because they say they can t afford to hold them. what do you think of that? i think the president has to act in the interests of the country and that means if we need an aircraft carrier in the gulf, and i believe we do, i thought we needed one more, then he should do it. i think if there are people who are incars rated, he should make sure we re able to keep them in jail. look, again, it s politics. it is okay, how do we do something that will get a headline make it look like the terrible republicans are not willing to come together. you know i would say, bill, that was his real complaint. he said the campaign is over yet the president seems to continue to campaign, and that s where i think he felt the frustration. when he was governor he would have sat down with the other side, in his case the democrats and tried to work out a deal. the last thing that happens if you attack the other side,
washington, d.c. says raymond davis has diplomatic immunity since he was there. he was working for the u.s. consulate and holding a diplomatic passport. now, here s today s developments. you have senator john kerry. he s visited islamabad. actually now on a plane on the way home. he went to try to get davis released. it was a very quick visit, already on his way back home and just this morning the u.s. justice department announced a criminal probe into the killings that has triggered this mess overseas so the question of who davis is, his status, if you will, came up today at the state department briefing and i want you to listen as cnn foreign affairs correspondent jill doherty pushes into answers here as to what davis was doing for the u.s. in pakistan. take a listen. is he a contractor? is he a you know, consulate employy? he s a u.s. diplomat currently incars rated in pakistan with diplomatic immunity and should be released. what exactly is his job? i can go back.
the u.s. prosecuted him, he went to jail and served time in a georgian prison. the point being in the case of something that can be skcon tru as not self defense but a murder, diplomatic immunity doesn t necessarily have to be invoked in the sense if there s an agreement between the pakistanis and the americans to let this proceed. that s not happening right now. that s one of the big questions. you mentioned that the georgian diplomat in the situation in washington, d.c. now we know the situation is flip flopped with the american in pakistan. it s not clear exactly who davis is in terms of his status. a diplomatic or was he a defense contractor. i want to play some sound for you. this is when our own jill dougherty sort of pushed back a little bit with p.j. crowley at the state department on that very issue. listen. is he a contractor? is he a, you know, consulate employee? he is a u.s. diplomat
