Eastpointe City Council voted 3-2 Tuesday night to approve a lane reduction plan for Nine Mile Road on a stretch between Gratiot Avenue and Kelly Road that will narrow the roadway from five to three lanes.
Eastpointe residents will have an opportunity to voice their opinions about a proposed lane conversion on Nine Mile Road that would reduce lanes from five to three; a public hearing is scheduled for Feb. 6, 7 p.m. during the regular Eastpointe City Council meeting.
Approximately 1.5 miles of Nine Mile Road in Eastpointe will be reduced from five to three lanes after the City Council voted 3-2 at its Dec. 19 meeting to move forward with a redesign of the thoroughfare.
