Two Luzon dams had one gate open each on Tuesday morning to release water as Severe Tropical Storm Florita is heading for landfall over either Cagayan or Isabela.
At 3 a.m. on Saturday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 930 kilometers east of central Luzon but the effects of localized thunderstorms are expected in parts of the country, PAGASA reported.
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao on Monday and will bring rain showers over Metro Manila and other parts of the country, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
In its 4 p.m. daily weather bulletin, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Western Visayas, Zambales, Bataan, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan.
Tropical Depression Ester has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday but it is still enhancing the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) which will bring rains, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
