it. martha: would you want to investigate him for not telling the truth in front of that committee? i would say that you have got a problem. martha: chris and then matt, go ahead, chris. i don t know if he didn t tell the truth. i don t know if he willfully lied before congress. he did say that he was asked to word smith it by the attorney general of the united states. maybe she was saying i call it a matter and he was saying i call it a case. so, you know, there is a lot of there there and maybe they should both talk about it. it s sort of questionable to wonder which liar you are supposed to believe. jim comey repeatedly said he wasn t leaking information only later to admit that had happened despite prior testimony. i don t think there is a single american who believes loretta lynch was talking to bill clinton on the tarmac about grand kids. so i think it s indicative of the broader dynamic as we get closer and closer to the truth and the bias and the corrupt acts that led
martha: in moments congressman matt gaetz and chris hahn. the story begins with fox news senior political analyst on both of these topics tonight brit hume. good to have you with us this evening. thanks, martha. martha: this gives you an insight into how heated this 2020 race is shaping up to be already. let me start with your reaction to what we saw on the steps of the supreme court today from the 2020 democrat candidates. you mean you are talking the discussion of abortion? martha: yes. yeah. what was so striking was jackie speier getting up and saying she had had an abortion and getting a rousing cheer from the crowds. it is one thing to argue that abortion is a right that should be available to women who, in certain urgent circumstances, may need to use it. and it s the kind of thing one would think would be an occasion of some sadness. life is being taken. the possibility of a birth has been aborted, and while, you know, you might be
sure president trump is on very strong ground when he is refusing to or trying to block the turning over of financial documents from some third party. that s another matter. but, when it comes to the testimony of don mcgahn and hope hix and i guess others that have now been subpoenaed who were from his inner circle in the white house, i think he is on pretty strong ground and i m not sure the democrats will win on that in court. in fact i m pretty sure they won t. martha: brit hume good to see you. thanks, martha. martha: we have matt gates and chris hahn and host of the progressive progressive. we invited democrats to weigh in. they declined. thank you very much for being here tonight. a lot of heat on the impeachment tonight chris hahn. let s look at this most recent poll from fox should trump be impeached is the wording here. no you have yes 42%, no 50%. obviously reports of behind closed door battles between
counsel, absolutely got that because they wanted to investigate all of this. got robert mueller, who they went all over cable news saying he was the man, he was, you know, had great integrity, was going to see this thing through. he did it for two years, was given all the documents that he requested from the white house. so, chris, you know, just a final word on this and then i want to get to another aspect of this. i guess to some extent the white house looks at this and says, you know, when is enough enough? and can we move past this at any given point or is it just going to go on and on and on with more speensz and investigations? so, the white house doesn t get to choose what is reasonable oversight. that s not what the constitution prescribes. congress gets to choose that and it was okay and not privileged for him to testify before the special counsel. it s okay and not privilege for him to testify before congress. it s like the president. martha: so you think he is going to s
dossier funded by democrats was part of the intelligence community s assessment. as mr. downer continues his work to look into the leaks, the fraud before the fisa court and then the correct intent back at the white house, those three things will open the door. martha: gentlemen, thank you. i would say, congressman, the same amount of people who believe that the trump tower meeting was about adoption believe that the tarmac meeting was about grand children. martha: we have got to governmental the difference there you already have the conclusion of robert mueller. that s the why we have got to hear from witnesses and read the full report. martha: chris hahn, matt gaetz to be continued. i can t wait. martha: come back. we will pick it up right there next time. chris hawnel, mat gates, congressman thank you very much. good to see you both. thank you. martha: kinney high stakes briefing iran. what he thinks now that he has heard from the chairman of the joint chiefs and t
