let s talk about this with our political director david chalian. what is the risk reward here. we were stunned hearing this saturday night that that is the tactic he s using, to tell people to get to the polls, vote for republicans. it is not quite the same message that house republican leaders are sort of stressing to all their candidates to get out there on the trail and sell the tax reform plan. that wasn t quite what the president was going for with guys. but i do think there is clearly a base play here. this is a red meat crowd, at a ral rally. these are people most fired up at the notion of the democrats trying to oust him from office and there are some republicans raising the impeachment matter, puts the democrats in a bind, clearly i think what president trump is trying to do here. and there are some democrats, maxine waters, who have said they would like to see the president impeached, there are others as well. however it not universal, how are democratic strategists and
investigation. it will be interesting to see what he tells you this afternoon. back on the emmett flood thing, i worked with him in the white house, he s a very tough lawyer, and he s got a phd from the university of texas, this is a serious move by the trump effort to defend him. we ll see what happens, this is a real serious play. well, by that description is he a conservative lawyer? well, look, i mean he sre represented bill clinton in the impeachment matter and so he s represented a wide range of folks, what he is a real tough, smart, hard working lawyer who s going to, you know, really put the screws to the mueller investigation and you know, make it tough for hthem and really defend his client and so we ll see how it plays out.
