More than 200 people showed up to celebrate history in the making as Omaha native and human rights activist Malcolm X was inducted into the Nebraska Hall of Fame Wednesday.
"I am humbled and honored by the embrace of the residents of Nebraska. Thank you so much. Let Malcolm's dedication to truth and justice inspire us all," said Malcolm X's daughter.
Once deemed too controversial, the human rights advocate born in Omaha becomes the first Black person to join the Nebraska Hall of Fame since it started in 1961.
