Ameren seeks input on new energy pathway

Staff report Ameren Illinois LINCOLN, IL – Ameren Illinois is hosting two virtual open houses to inform the public about a new energy investment for Logan County, Illinois. The proposed Logan County Connector Project consists of an approximately 6- to 10-mile transmission line and substation upgrades designed to improve energy reliability for the area. The Logan County Connector Project team will host two virtual open houses to present an overview of the project and give the public an opportunity to provide input on the Route Alternatives. A telephone public meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 and a virtual Webex meeting will take place at noon Thursday, April 22. Each meeting will include a brief presentation on the project, a Q&A session and an explanation of how the public can provide input.

Blarney Blitz 5K being held Saturday, police say will affect traffic routes

MWC-Peoria Police Media Release PEORIA, Ill. ShaZam Racing Saturday at 8:00 a.m. will hold the annual Blarney Blitz 5K. There will be some traffic intersections impacted by the race, including numerous intersections on Water St. and Adams St in downtown Peoria. According to Peoria Police Public Information Officer Amy Dotson, the following intersections will be impacted between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.:  Walnut and Water  Washington and Eaton

Pritzker moves Region 4 into Tier 2, limited gathering and sports to resume

Gov. Pritzker announced on Friday that Region 4 will move from Tier 3 into Tier 2 Mitigations. Counties affected by these changes are Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair, and Washington. Some of the new changes include allowing limited social gathering, increased sports and recreational gym usage. Gyms can open with a capacity of no more than ten people at a time. Students will need reservations to use the Student Fitness Center facilities. Club sports can resume under the IDPH All Sports Policy. Organized sports are limited to 25 people or 25 percent of a building’s capacity, whichever is less. Friends and family and small groups of ten can now gather as long as they follow social distancing and mask guidelines both indoors and outdoors.
