Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said the supply of Karnataka Milk Federation’s (KMF) ‘Nandini’ brand ghee to make the famous laddus given as ‘prasad’ at the renowned.
The TTD Trust, which manages the temple administration, took the decision to end the contract as far back as 18 months ago. The TTD Trust has, for long, been using the Nandini ghee in the preparation of the famous Tirupathi Laddus, the temple sells to devotees as prasadam.
“Unfortunately, we have fixed rates and cannot lower our prices. Therefore, we won’t be able to participate in the bidding process and will no longer supply ghee,” he explained.
KMF highlighted that there is a shortage of milk storage in the state, and providing better milk purchase prices is crucial to encourage milk producers.
