Cars down onto the interstate blow. Lets bring in fox5s Kristin Leone who has been track ing the investigation. Reporter this is what we know so far. This mornings run was the first for passengers on a faster, brand new route with brand new tracks. But as youre about to see here, the high speed train on that run plunged onto the overpass and onto several cars on that highway killing six people that we know of and injuring dozens of others. This all happened a little before 8 00 this morning about 40 miles south of seattle were told about 830 people were on board that amtrak train at the time of the derailment. The train itself was moving alt around 80 Miles Per Hour Officials Say and was heading to portland. Dozens were taken to the hospital, including people who were hit while driving on the highway. You just saw right there how many emergency crews were out there helping those victims off the train and roadway and hospital. Not to mention several of those passengers cars right behind
This is has been a difficult rescue mission as crews struggle to try to get into those crash train cars still dangling over the highway. Amtrak train 501 is still dangling from an overpass tonight after it derailed in Washington State just outside of tacoma this morning. Five crew members and 78 passengers were on board. Three were killed. When i stepped out i didnt really realize i was standing on train car. Reporter Emma Schaeffer is one passenger who had no idea something was wrong until she woke up in different place than where she was originally seated. I was thrown from my seat. You were throw thrown, into the other seats. Okay. Because i was taking a nap at the time actually. Reporter horrific seen shows train cars crushing cars that were driving on the highway below. Multiple cars and trucks were struck by train cars that left the train tracks went down on to the road. Reporter investigators say self people on the ground were hurt but the deaths were all people on the train in

He saw some kids mingling down the end of the street sensed there was trouble. One kid took off on foot. He got his camera rolling when the second teen came speeding down the street. All right we got a police chase [ bleep ]. Look at this [ bleep ]. The kid is on a dirt bike. He could clearly go anywhere. Instead he stops, ditches it and runs off down the street on foot. Second line of disappointment here the cop doesnt chase him but ill tell you why he doesnt chase him, hes a little bit smarter than the kid here. The kid gets away. Aint that a [ bleep ]. According to doc dixon the officer disabled the dirt bike and left it there. He doubles back around about ten minutes later, picks up the bike and starts to try and get the bike going.
