Alexander Greenwood, prosecuting, said: “The defendant was driving too fast for the conditions and failed to pay proper attention to the road, failed to brake and failed to avoid the collision. “He caused the death of Rhys Dobson. The court was told the teenager was declared dead at the scene by the emergency services after having suffered catastrophic head injuries.
Despite this bombshell, Makatek decided against firing her. A man who spent 16 years on the run after being charged over a fatal M4 crash
has been cleared
of causing death by dangerous driving .
Fugitive Omar Hassan was arrested by South Wales Police officers after being found walking on the M4 in the early hours of the morning on December 21, 2020.
Enquiries revealed that the 44-year-old was on the run after being charged with causing the death by dangerous driving of Hama Falih Foran Jabar, 24, on the M4 in Newport on August 21, 2004. The crash occurred near junction 23 (Magor) westbound at about 6.15am.
