LABUAN (Bernama): Police here have handed out RM1,000 compounds to 41 people on Sunday (Jan 17) for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) under the movement control order.

LABUAN: A 26-year-old man was electrocuted near a wooden bridge at the water squatter settlement of Saguking, here, late Tuesday night.
The deceased, a Malaysian permanent resident, was found by a villager passing through the bridge around 11pm and immediately alerted the police.
Acting Labuan Police Chief DSP Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani said police could not rule out any criminal element in his death as the investigation was still ongoing.

“We received a report at 2.56am on the discovery of the body.
Upon checking, we found a small bush fire near the scene, and the man was confirmed to have been electrocuted after the autopsy conducted on him,” he said.

LABUAN: Thirteen people were detained by police for defying standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) at food premises here last night.
Acting Labuan police chief DSP Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani said all of them, aged between 28 and 48 years, were compounded RM1,000 each, under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the local Infected Areas) Regulations 2020.
The offenders will be prosecuted in court if they fail to settle the compound fine.
Offences include failing to comply with physical distancing (11) and the others, for failure to register with the My Sejahtera app for Covid-19 contact tracing upon entering food premises.

LABUAN: A body believed to be that of a man was found near waters off Pulau Rusukan Kecil, here, Saturday, by civilians who alerted police at about 10.34am.
Acting Labuan Police Chief DSP Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani said marine police were deployed to the scene and found the body about a mile from the island.
The body was fully clothed and had a blue jacket with the words Hengyi printed on it.

Initial findings showed no physical injuries on the body. No documents were found either. The remains were sent for post mortem.
