Data Breach: The most common attack type in India was phishing (almost 22 per cent), followed by stolen or compromised credentials (16 per cent). Social engineering was the costliest root cause of breaches at Rs 19.1 crore, followed by malicious insider threats, which amounted to nearly Rs 18.8 crore.
A new IBM study of data breaches found that if an organization's internal team first detects a breach and the organization has well-practiced incident response plans, that organization will be able to more quickly detect and respond, which will lead to lower breach cleanup costs.
