g7. there s the summit itself with the commitments that come out of it, and then there s the hard work that follows to put, you know, concrete actions behind the goals that the leaders set. so this process, you know, is very very important. so i m a believer in these kinds of summits. it s meaningful, you know, when these leaders come together and make commitments, and obviously the challenge is in the follow up action to make sure that there s real meat on the bones of the statements that they will make in the coming hours. the devil s always in the details, p.j. crowley, it s so great to see you. thanks for hanging around. we appreciate it. as vaccination rates hit a wall, there s one largely untapped group, teenagers, the renewed push to get them vacced. two black students won great errors and two white families
who want to go soft on crime. who don t want violent offenders locked up. we need a mayor who will be tough on crime and make the city safe. if we cannot be safe living here, the people can t live here. we may as well live somewhere else. don, listen, i m not the quiet don. i wrote the song. all of my current candidates were afraid to talk about we have to be safe. andrew yang did not come out and talk about gun violence until there was a shooting blocks from his home. others talk about the long term plan. yes, i m a believer in prevention and long-term plans. but we need to deal with intervention. what are we doing right now? violent offenders without being heavy handed and go after those nonviolent offenders. that is the mistake we made in the past. let s go after those shooters.
time to isolate russia. we don t want to be engaging russia and providing them a platform to further provoke, which is what i expect he will do in the context of the summit. he gives him more power than he deserves at this point. is a former elected official, what are your thoughts at this stage and what are your concerns going into this summit? a lot of what has been said or our concerns but they also form a foundation for some not optimism, but some constructive understanding of what this administration might be trying to accomplish. i m a believer in sitting down never hurts unless it is completely out of the ground. i don t think we re quite there yet. i think that if you look back a few years ago when former president trump, who i thought was tough with china and russia, but with a serious intellectual moment when he decided to doubt our own intelligence and except at least publicly the word of vladimir putin. this president is not doing that. i hope he reiterates that at the

ethics and valor and honor and i think it would behoove all those police officers who are not, the ones who are not to behave more like the ones who are. i don t need really much of more tonight know there are some examples, egregious examples of police abuse. oftentimes it falls at the hands of people of color. having said that i am more optimistic that a reform bill can be gotten to before summer starts or before summer actually starts in june. i guess we are getting ready for memorial day now. i m a believer that we can find ways to come together. the awareness that s happened since this a year ago i think has made everyone from the biggest will streets across the country to the smallest business owner to every police officer in the country understanding a little bit better. i m hopeful that we re going to find answers to these challenges. we can t be naive to call for defunding the police. and we can t be equally naive and suggest there is not a problem. there is an issue.
