COVID-19: Telangana daily cases decline; shortage halts 2nd dose of Covaxin
The cumulative count of COVID-19 cases in Telangana has crossed 5.28 lakh on Sunday.

Hyderabad: The second dose of Covaxin (developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech) vaccination drive for the persons above 45-years old was postponed due to inadequate stock and non-receipt of fresh stocks from the ministry of health and family welfare. The update was posted in a tweet by Telangana State Public Health Department director Dr G Srinivasa Rao on Sunday here.

Hyderabad: In a bid to address the bed crunch in hospitals amid a spike in COVID-19 cases, a new isolation center has been set up in Hyderabad to tide over the crisis and start taking patients from Monday May 10.

Hyderabad: At a point when COVID-19 cases are on the rise due to the second wave, a rare, first-of-its-kind case is reported from Hyderabad’s Nehru Zoological Park.
Eight Asiatic lions tested positive for COVID-19, reports said. This appears to be the first time in the country where animals fell prey to the viral disease.
The lions, lodged in the 380-acre zoo, are said to be recovering. The RT-PCR test of the lions was taken up after they showed signs of COVID 19.
COVID-19: Night curfew extended till May 8 by Telangana govt

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Friday extended the ongoing night curfew till May 8, putting all speculations of an impending lockdown to rest. State chief secretary Somesh Kumar passed a GO, extending the existing curfew. Many had been expecting a complete shut down, given that thousands of COVID-19 cases are being reported everyday in the southern state.
Prior to this, the Telangana government on April 20 had passed an order restricting movement of the general public from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for a period of 10 days. On that day, the state had reported nearly 6,000 new COVID-19 cases. On Friday, 7,646 new cases had been reported.
