Plans for 98 homes at St John s Farm in Fordingbridge refused

PLANS to build nearly 100 homes near Fordingbridge have been refused. The proposal The proposed development was for 78 new homes and 20 retirement flats, a village hall and playground as well as a new access. The principle access was to be from the B3078. The retirement units, village hall and playground would be located at the north of the site. The 78 homes would range from flats, terraced housing, to semi-detached and detached properties. A design and access statement submitted with the application said: This proposal will provide new dwellings within easy walking distance of Fordingbridge town centre without compromising the local highway network - the location of the site ensures that there will be no additional congestion through the town centre as the majority of traffic movements will involve direct access off the A338.

Verdict on plan for Little Hill at Furze Hill, Fordingbridge

The National Park Authority has approved the proposal. CIVIC chiefs have approved plans to demolish seven outbuildings in the New Forest National Park. An application relating to Little Hill at Furze Hill, Fordingbridge, has been given the go-ahead by the Lymington-based National Park Authority (NPA). Hyde Parish Council had urged the authority to support the proposal. A report to NPA members said one the fields owned by the applicant contained a number of barns and stables that were dated and in various states of disrepair. It added: “The applicant seeks conservation area consent for the demolition of the dilapidated buildings.

Damage to land on Hyde Common | Bournemouth Echo

A MASS of tyre tracks were left behind on Hyde Common causing damage to the land.  The damage was to an area of land which is used as a cricket pitch and also a play area for children at Hyde Primary School is believed to have happened on Christmas Eve or during the early hours of Christmas Day.  Hyde Common is owned by Hampshire County Council and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.  The council s executive member for recreation, heritage, countryside and rural affairs, Councillor Edward Heron, said: “I can confirm that the cricket pitch at Hyde Common, land owned by the County Council, was damaged by a vehicle. Our understanding is that this incident took place either on Christmas Eve or the early hours of Christmas Day.
