Police have identified the deceased in an early morning crash south of Ethel.
First responders got to the scene around 7:40 Tuesday morning at McNaughton Line (Huron County Road #19) about a kilometre south of Cranbrook Road.
Investigators believe a minivan in the southbound lane, crossed the centre and collided head one with a school bus.
The driver of the minivan was pronounced deceased at the scene, and they have been identified as 36-year-old Daniel Karpyshyn from Vanastra.
The lone occupant of the school bus was taken to the hospital with minor injuries but has since been released.
Anyone with any further information is asked to call police.

One driver is dead and a school bus driver has minor injuries after a collision in Huron County.
First responders were called out to the collision on McNaught Line (Huron County Road #19) south of Cranbrook Road, south of Ethel, around 7:40 Tuesday morning.
Huron County OPP say a school bus was travelling northbound on McNaught Line when it collided head-on with a mini-van that was travelling southbound.
Police say the driver of the minivan, the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene while the school bus driver, who was the only person on the bus, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
