Huron County OPP have released the name of the person killed in an early morning collision involving a school bus southwest of Listowel. They say 36-year-old Daniel Karpyshyn was driving a minivan around 7:40 Tuesday morning when it collided with a school bus on McNaught Line (Huron County Road #19) about a kilometer south of Cranbrook Road. Police say they’ve determined the minivan was southbound on McNaught Line when the vehicle crossed over the centre line and collided head-on with a northbound school bus.

Police on the scene of a fatal crash south of Ethel

Police are on the scene of a fatal 2 vehicle crash south of Ethel in Huron East. This morning around 7:40 AM, first responders were called to the crash scene on McNaught Line (Huron County Road 19) south of Cranbrook Road. The preliminary investigation suggests a school bus collided head on with a minivan. Sadly the lone occupant of the minivan was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the lone occupant of the school bus was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. It’s expected that McNaught Line (Huron County Road #19) will be closed between St. Michael’s Road and Cranbrook Road for the next several hours.
