Leah Conner, a 16-year-old from Avoca, was found dead on the Wadhams-to-Avoca Trail the morning of March 7, according to Michigan State Police Lt. Lizabeth Rich. The trail spans 12 miles from Avoca/Kenockee Township to Port Huron Charter Township. Conner left home to walk on Saturday, March 6 around 11:20 a.m., police said, but she did not return home. Her family reported her missing around 4:15 p.m. the same day.
