An Elkton woman was killed in a hit-and-run July 12 and the Huron County Sheriff s Office is looking for information to find the driver.
According to a press release from Sheriff Kelly Hanson, shortly before 6 p.m. the Elkton woman was walking on Campbell Road near the intersection of Grassmere Road in Chandler Township when she was struck.
Hanson said a witness recalled hearing the sound of a collision but had dismissed because it wasn t uncommon for people hauling vehicles or scrap metal to the local scrap yard located down the road to lose part of their load.
Drug task force arrest Bad Axe man for meth trafficking

A 35-year-old Bad Axe man was arrested April 30 by the Huron County Drug Task Force and was charged with selling methamphetamine.
According to a press release from the Huron County Sheriff s Office, Daniel C. Church was charged with three felonies related to the sale and trafficking of meth.
Sheriff Kelly Hanson said in the release that Church was arrested at a residence on West Huron Avenue in Bad Axe, and his arrest was the result of an extended investigation into the sale of meth. Church was initially lodged in the Huron County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond, but the bond was raised to $75,000 during his arraignment.
