A deceased 84-year-old man was found in a parking area near the Port Austin Harbor on Saturday morning, the Huron County Sheriff’s Department reported.
A press release from the department said that Huron Central Dispatch received a call from a Port Austin man just before 8 a.m., who found the body covered in snow. The deceased man’s car was hung up on a rock, which was still running and in gear with its wheels spinning about 75 feet away from where the man was found.
Two arrested on drug charges

A three-month investigation has led to the arrest of two Huron County residents on drug charges.
According to a press release from the Huron County Sheriff s Office, Beecher John-Ray Dheel, 31, of Elkton and Bray A. Vantifflin, 28, of Bad Axe were arrested last week on felony delivery of meth charges.
On the evening of Feb. 11, members of Huron County Drug Task Force and police from the Bad Axe Police Department arrested the two men after a traffic stop in Bad Axe on drug charges. The arrests were part of an ongoing investigation into he delivery of methamphetamine in Huron County.

Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson is offering $4,000 cash for information leading the the arrest of the individuals responsible for Ricky H. Bailey s death.
Hanson announced Feb. 2 that the department received an additional $1,500 to enhance the reward. This is the second time the reward has been increased.
Bailey, 59, was found dead in his home in Verona Township Dec. 30 as the result of two gunshot wounds.

The Huron County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $2,500 cash reward for anyone who is able to provide information leading to the arrest of the people involved in the alleged homicide of Ricky H. Bailey.
Bailey, 59, was found dead in his home in Verona Township Dec. 30 as the result of two gunshot wounds.
According to the sheriff’s office, shortly before midnight, two individuals reportedly entered Bailey’s home and shot him.
