Berkley Club is on Willow Street AN ASPIRING doorman trying to start a career for himself was ‘totally misled’ by those he was entitled to trust – taking on a job which later landed him in court. Daniel Webb told magistrates he felt like a lamb taken to the slaughter by those offering him work after he had completed a training course to become a qualified bouncer. However Burnley Magistrates Court heard that the 24-year-old had never held a licence, meaning he was working illegally at the Berkley Club in Accrington when an investigation took place earlier this year. Prosecuting the case for the industry body, Peter Rollins said: “This matter relates to Mr Webb and his unlicensed conduct on January 18 at the Berkley Club in Accrington. The background is that an investigation was carried out by the Security Industry Authority into company’s providing security services.
