ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development on Friday failed to provide complete report of National Assembly members’ views about the Emigration (Amendment) Bill, 2020 at the Senate standing committee meeting.
The bill was approved by the National Assembly and later moved in the Senate.
The Senate Standing Committee on Oversees Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, which met here with Senator Manzoor Ahmed Kakar in the chair, showed their displeasure on the incomplete working papers provided by the ministry.
Senator Sherry Rehman said a bill could not be approved without taking into consideration the approved report of the National Assembly Standing Committee and views of the members of the National Assembly.

New Delhi, Feb 21 : Former England captain Michael Vaughan shared a picture of a cricket stadium in Pakistan s Gwadar while taking a mild jab at the pitch quality during the second Test between India and England in Chennai. Vaughan has been a vocal critic of the spin-friendly conditions that were on offer in Chennai during the second Test, stating on a number of occasions that the pitch was not fit to host a Test match.
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development on Wednesday refused to buy the ministry’s claim that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has not imposed a ban on Pakistani workforce.
Moreover, as more overseas Pakistanis have returned home than those who have gone abroad, committee directed the ministry to take steps aimed at sending them back to overseas or adjust them in jobs within the country.
The committee, chaired by PML-N Sheikh Fayyazud Din, was held in a committee room of the Parliament House. Agenda of the meeting was to discuss the sufferings of the overseas Pakistanis due to Covid-19.
