The attacker was later shot dead. Several members of the public managed to wrestle him to ground, and their bravery has been widely praised. Three people were seriously hurt in the incident which happened just before 2 00 local time on friday afternoon. Police say they were called to an incident at a building near London Bridge after reports of a stabbing. Shortly afterwards, eyewitnesses filmed members of the public as they cornered a man carrying a knife, on the north side of the bridge, and pinned him to the ground. Armed Police Arrived within minutes and shot him. He appeared to be wearing an explosive device which turned out to be fake. The man died at the scene.
