S&W Supports NSSF Through $500,000 Donation After SHOT Show 2021 Cancelled
As you have likely heard already, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) – which hosts and puts on SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoors Trade Show) – has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event due to the complications of COVID-19 and taking everyone’s health and safety into account. After the crushing announcement that SHOT Show 2021 was going to be cancelled due to COVID, Smith & Wesson decided to donate
$500,000 to support the NSSF in these challenging times.

Just as we’re getting ready to kick 2020 out the door, this wild year throws yet another punch on the way out.
A man in South Africa was found fatally wounded over the weekend after reportedly being mauled to death by his pet hippo, who Fox 10 says he had previously referred to as “like a son to [him].” Marius Els, who resided in the Free State province of South Africa was discovered dead in the river with multiple bite wounds from the massive animal.

A black bear in Virginia with an apparent disdain for holiday cheer was caught on a Nest security system wrecking a family’s inflatable Santa display.
According to Fox 5 DC, residents in a Fairfax County neighborhood had been experiencing a string of ‘vandalism’ the past few weeks, reporting several of their front yard Christmas decorations being slashed overnight.
One resident, Melissa Ashby, said she found her Santa flying a helicopter display gashed and deflated. However, upon reviewing her Nest security camera that surveys the family’s home, Ashby discovered the vandalism was actually the work of a furry culprit.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Push Further Restrictions to Prevent Spread of Chronic Wasting Disease
Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission wants to extend restrictions on bringing deer carcasses and meat with the bones and skin still attached into the state as a means to prevent CWD from infecting the deer population. Currently, there’s an exception in place for people bringing deer from Georgia and Alabama, but this latest proposal from the FWC would put an end to that.
As of now, the disease has not been found in Florida deer, and the aim is to get out ahead of any possible infections by implementing further restrictions on deer coming in from other states.
