Haberdashers schools have given laptops and Internet equipment to schools in the community Several schools have received deliveries of equipment designed to help boost access to home-learning. Independent schools Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls and The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Elstree have been busy delivering bundles of new laptops and dongles with pre-loaded internet to schools in the community this week. The initiative has been created by both schools in a bid to support the rising numbers of families struggling to access learning at home, due to poor internet connectivity and lack of devices. Among the schools currently receiving the equipment are Cowley Hill Primary in Borehamwood, Fairfield Junior School and St John s St Infants School in Radlett, How Wood Primary School, Bournehall Primary School in Bushey, and the London Academy in Edgware.
Claire Paas enthused: Samuel Ryder Academy teaching staff are outstanding, Mr Tester is always going above and beyond, Mr Hoque is an all-round great teacher, the list is endless at this school! I cannot thank them enough for their commitment and dedication - it’s amazed me.
Jenny Murray agreed: There are so many at Samuel Ryder Academy: Ms Reed, Ms Leat, Mr Crockford, Mr Gautier, Mr King, Mr Fothergill, Mr Chatterley, Mrs Glaysher to name but a few (and in no particular order)!
Lisa Helou wanted to recognise staff at Beaumont School for working during their personal holiday time to get ready for online learning: They are constantly adapting to new rules and guidelines - a massive shout-out please!
Andrea added: One guy said it s absolutely made his Christmas, especially with the letters the kids from school sent. He said it absolutely warmed his heart and wants to write back to the school to thank the children and the head.

Andrea is hoping to be more hands on in the near future, with the aim of being trained to help the homeless first hand, and has been overwhelmed by support from members of the community to help out with future drives.
